Your Health Care
Kia ora,
We want to share with you some important information about the current state of health care delivery in Aotearoa New Zealand and how we can work together to ensure you continue to receive the care you need.
Health care needs are changing:
• People are living longer and managing more complex health conditions.
• Demand for acute, same-day appointments has increased.
• Government funding has not kept pace with this rising demand.
To help us serve you better, we ask for your support in adapting how you engage with health care:
• Plan Ahead: Book appointments in good time for routine check-ups (WINZ/ACC reviews) and all repeat prescriptions.
• Use the wider care team: Pharmacists, Physiotherapy and Opticians.
• Contact Healthline 0800 611 116 for advice.
• Consider using Telehealth – Healthify | Telehealth
• Be Patient: Understand that delays or triaging are not personal; they’re part of managing limited resources fairly to ensure all patients needs are met.
• Urgent matters between 8am and 10pm, seven days, go to MIC, 98 Waimea Road, Nelson 03 546 881, no appointment needed.
• Emergency care Dial 111 for an ambulance or go to Nelson Hospital Emergency Department 24/7.
We’re here for you, and we’re working hard to keep your health care safe and fair.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Ngā mihi,
Tima Health
