• Demand for acute, same-day appointments has increased.
• Government funding has not kept pace with this rising demand.

To help us serve you better, we ask for your support in adapting how you engage with health care:

Plan Ahead: Book appointments in good time for routine check-ups (WINZ/ACC reviews) and all repeat prescriptions.

Use the wider care team: Pharmacists, Physiotherapy and Opticians.

Be Patient: Understand that delays or triaging are not personal; they’re part of managing limited resources fairly to ensure all patients needs are met.

Urgent matters between 8am and 10pm, seven days, go to MIC, 98 Waimea Road, Nelson 03 546 881, no appointment needed.

Emergency care Dial 111 for an ambulance or go to Nelson Hospital Emergency Department 24/7.
