ADHD assessments are changing
From February 2026, trained GPs and Nurse Practitioners will be able to diagnose and treat ADHD for adults aged 18+.
🚫 Our clinic will NOT be offering ADHD diagnostic assessments
What you need to know:
While this change improves access, ADHD is still a complex condition that requires time and care to diagnosis properly.
• ADHD assessments require longer, specialised appointments
• An assessment takes at least 90 minutes over 2 or more visits
• ADHD cannot be diagnosed in a standard 15-minute GP appointment
• ADHD assessments cost more than a usual GP visit
• All clinicians follow a national clinical framework
Children & young people
Assessment and treatment will continue to involve paediatric or psychiatry specialists or multidisciplinary teams.
